The management style of a shepherd with his flock of sheep and his team of dogs is just as important as that of a manager in a corporate setting.
Having observed the "do as I say" style of management and a total lack of regard or respect for them by their staff I have since learned that by working in partnership with animals and maintaining a positive stance as well as leading by example has enabled me to earn their respect, communicate with them effectively to work towards a common goal.
