Sheepdog Experience Day with Nij Vyas
The perfect gift for Birthdays, Weddings and Christmas & Hen Parties
"Never in a million years did I ever think that I could take so many lessons, applicable to every life, from such an activity"
Paulo Rio De Jinero (Brazil)
Border Collie Fan Club
Everyone loves the Border Collie which has many wonderful and natural attributes for working with sheep. Even before any training takes place the Collie is gifted with raw but natural abilities for speed, diligence, guile, and tenacity. There are many situations where the Collie’s natural reactions will not only be correct but quicker than any command you can deliver.
If you simply love Border Collies and enjoy watching them work and wish to find out more about how they are trained for farm work and sheepdog trials I can offer you the opportunity to come and spend half a day with me and my dogs, midst the most wonderful countryside in Leicestershire, on the Caudal Hills. The region is rich with local history and what better way to to stop for lunch than to go to the Bell Inn in East Langton, parts of which date back to 1628.
Accommodation can also be provided at the Bell, with a generous discount of 15%. A varied and exciting menu is on offer with friendly staff.

Risk Assessment
We endeavour to ensure that your experience with us is a safe and pleasant one; please take note of the following:
In the winter the ground can be wet and slippery so please ensure that appropriate footwear and clothing is worn. The weather can change very suddenly on the Caudals. The lowland areas are fairly flat though care should be taken whilst walking on the hills where there are ant hills, rabbit warrens and badger sets.
Please would you also ensure that you do not approach the dogs or livestock without prior consent as working dogs can sometimes act in an unpredictable manner as can sheep. By avoiding both hand, eye contact and bending over them you will ensure that the dogs maintain their healthy respect and trust in you. Where possible the dangers will be pointed out to you at the beginning of sessions. Parents are asked to discuss these points with their children prior to arriving.
We accept no responsibility where the above advice is breached for any accidents or injuries sustained or for any damage to property. Children must be supervised at all times by their parents. By booking with us it is understood that you agree and abide by the above risk assessment.
